The classical tradition enumerates seven virtues as the basis for a good life. As educators, everything we do for and expect of our children is in service of that same end. An education in these virtues, as they appear in the history and philosophy of the Western world, offers a single discipline that orders and orients a student’s every subject and exercise towards their excellence and wellbeing.
