Patty Hons is a retired educator of 40 years, and a 35 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Telling Mary Draper Ingles’ story allows Patty to combine these two loves of educating and sharing stories of history. Patty is a direct descendant of Mary Draper Ingles, through her oldest son, Thomas.

Learning Express: Mary Draper Ingles: A True Story of Courage & Family
Session participants will hear the story of Mary Draper Ingles, a real live pioneer heroine who lived through a Shawnee Indian attack, kidnapping, and escaped to walk almost 800 miles back home to her family. This is a TRUE story of courage, love and sense of family.
