Did you miss our webinar What about student internships?
Thank you to Cedarville University for sponsoring our 2024 Internship Program
Internship applications are now open!
Is your high schooler trying to decide what they want to study in college or do with their life? Are they trying to figure out where their gifts and passions lie? Would some real-world experience help with that decision? Maybe an internship is right for your student.
The IAHE offers student internships for high school juniors and seniors.
When: Fall semester of 2024. Internships will run from approximately August 19th through December 2nd. Students will be expected to spend 4 to 4.5 hours per week on internship work and activities in order to earn high school credit. Additionally, the IAHE may offer some interns the opportunity to continue during the spring semester of 2025 in order to gain more specific work experience with certain teams in our organization, such as graphic design, publications, social media, leadership, website design, government affairs, and more.
Where: From the comfort of your own home. We work virtually from home communicating through emails, phone calls, video calls, and more.
What: Service and educational opportunities, including a chance to:
- learn who the IAHE is and the role the organization plays in serving, protecting, and encouraging homeschoolers in Indiana
- learn about the history of homeschooling in Indiana
- learn about homeschool law in Indiana and the current legislative issues that the IAHE is tracking
- learn to work professionally with a team of mentors and peers
- learn about and grow leadership abilities
- build skills using the various software programs and tools that are a part of making the IAHE operate smoothly
- learn to work professionally with a team of mentors and peers
- develop interpersonal skills such as listening, asking the right questions, dealing with differences, etc.
- help the IAHE to serve homeschoolers in Indiana
Why: An opportunity to gain valuable insight into what kinds of work they may or may not be suited for. This is a chance for students to serve the Indiana homeschool community while also earning high school credit and adding practical work experience to their transcript.
