The IAHE highly recommends that homeschooling families become a part of a local support group. In Indiana, there are nearly 250 support groups and co-ops. They each exist to provide encouragement, information, socialization, and friendship for homeschooling families. However, just as homeschools differ, individual groups differ. Some are designed for educational purposes. Some focus on field trips or special interests, such as history or drama.  Some are ‘co-op’ groups where the parents share the teaching responsibilities in order to offer a variety of classes for students.
To protect the privacy of individual groups, we have moved the support group and co-op information to the private side of website. You must create an IAHE website account and log-in to view what is available in your area. Many groups have a limit on the number of families that they will accept each year and may not be listed. Your Regional Representatives have a complete listing of all of the opportunities in your region. No group in your area? Our Region Representatives will be happy to assist you in starting a new group.
For more information about a particular region, contact your Regional Rep.
