Description
Teaching the learner who is outside the box of “normal” is not a task for the faint hearted. Everyone learns in different ways and at varying levels. When teaching a child who is at a higher level of capacity than what would be considered an average range, what variations should be made? How do you take a child who is already ahead of their age level developmentally and help them learn how to enrich, improve, be challenged, and continue to move forward all while balancing the goal of letting them be their age? What about the student who seems to be a bright learner, but you’re just not sure where they fall as far as intelligence level. There is also the student who seems to never engage or pay attention. Are they really not engaged, or are they engaged in thinking on subjects beyond what anyone would imagine? We will answer these questions and many more as we talk about how we can identify a gifted learner and teach them in a balanced way while allowing them to reach their fullest potential while still enjoying their current lifestage stage.
