As homeschoolers, we have a unique gift—the chance to weave learning, family life, and discipleship together every day. Thanksgiving is the perfect moment to pause and recognize just how many blessings this journey holds. It’s a time to remember why we are doing this, why it matters, and why we keep struggling through those difficult days.Â
Here are just a few of the things we can give thanks for today:
- I have the time and freedom to disciple my children.
- I can help my children pursue their passions.
- I can teach to their learning styles.Â
- We have time to heal or slow down when needed.Â
- We can learn through real-world experiences.
- We can get outside for school.Â
- We can learn as a family.Â
- We can read lots of living literature.Â
- I can continue my education right alongside my kids.Â
- I get to be the first voice in my child’s life.Â
I know homeschooling isn’t easy. I know we all have days when we want to throw in the towel. I know we all, at some time or another, feel inadequate for the job.Â
I also know that God entrusted our children to us, knowing that—with His help—we are the very best people to love, guide, and educate them each day. I hope you can take time this Thanksgiving to reflect, to smile, and to find a few things to be thankful for.Â
